Milla Lewis (UK) is a filmmaker and photographer whose work focuses on the intersection of history, memory and myth.
Versatile and multi-skilled, Milla makes poetic and cinematic work. Her experience covers writing, directing, producing, shooting and editing, including short narrative, documentary, fashion promos, music videos, and across the charity sector. She has been commissioned to photograph weddings, albums, festivals, artist portraits and more, all with her distinct style which bridges the gap between commercial and artistic image-making.
After earning a First Class (Hons) degree in Photography from Brighton University - where she received the Nagoya University Award of Excellence in the Arts - Milla was selected for the Directing Mentorship Programme at the prestigious National Film School in Łódź, Poland. There she wrote and directed 'Mercy', which earned her the Sundance Ignite Fellowship in 2023, recognising her as one of ten emerging filmmakers worldwide. In 2024, Milla wrote and directed her second short film ‘Divine Origins’, supported by the Sundance Institute. The film is set to release in 2025.
